Jane Savage, Director of Nike Considered, gave fresh insight into sustainability efforts at Nike and shared her expertise at the GoGreen Conference in October 2008.
Here is a brief overview of the article in Portland Business Journal today: Today Nike Inc. debuted Nike Considered Design, a line of products with minimal environmental impact. Their goal is to create products while reducing the waste throughout the development process, using environmentally preferred materials, and eliminating toxics. Nike said it wants all of its footwear to meet its “baseline Considered standards” by 2011, all apparel by 2015 and all equipment by 2020, meaning its supply chain will have to reduce waste by 17 percent and increase the use of environmentally preferred materials by 20 percent.
